Well, I'll try again! Welcome to Washington. As time goes on I will try to introduce you to the many wonderful things to do in and around Washington, MO. Washington is a German community that lies along the banks of the Missouri River in the Heart of Missouri Wine Country. We celebrate our community as we have a quaint historic downtown area filled with galleries, specialty shops, and super people.
We offer a great place to come and have fun. We have lovely motels and quaint Bed and Breakfasts. Our innkeepers provide you with a great experience with comfortable room and gourmet breakfasts. In addition we have a wide variety of dining options, but no stay in Washington would be complete without a stop at Cowan's for a piece of "mile high" pie or a stop at Wimpy's Sandwich Shop for a brain sandwich. Both are items that Washington is know for.
We are also know for our great wineries located just across the river. What better way to spend the day than to sit on a picture perfect hillside or before a roaring fireplace with a bottle of award winning Missouri wine. The is great after a ride on the Katy Trail or a brisk walk on Washington's Riverfront Trail. Washington is just a great place to visit and in later blogs I will share many reasons to come and visit Washington, MO! See you soon.
