Hard to believe that October has come and gone, but with the cooler days come thoughts of the holidays. Downtown Washington has already started to prepare for the coming of Santa. We would sure like you all to come and enjoy the holidays with us.
Our Farmers' Market is still in full swing on Saturdays from 8am-2pm. It's amazing that there are still veggies available. Some of the vendors have brussel sprouts, potatoes, peppers, and many other good deals. In addition, there is always fresh baked bread and cookies. We even have those wonderful carrot and gooey butter cakes! If it's Christmas gifts you're looking for, the Market is the place to find those hand-crafted items. Check us out-you won't be disappointed!
As far as the holidays go, the downtown merchants will have their holiday open house the third weekend in November. All the stores will have great gifts for that special someone. Between the art galleries, the candy shops, and the home decor shops we have something for everyone.
On November 28, be sure to come to Washington for the Parade of Holiday lights. It will begin at 6:00pm and the lighted floats will take a journey through town. Mr. & Mrs. Claus will be in the last float and will then stop and see the kids at the Farmers' Market for hot cocoa and donut holes. What a way to begin the Christmas season!
Don't forget about the wineries and our great motels and bed and breakfasts. Winter comes to wine country and what better way to spend a weekend then to enjoy a bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire and then return to coziness of a great motel room or the luxury of a historic bed and breakfast.
See you for the holidays! For more information check out our website at http://www.washmo.org/.
